Similarly to Tyler Shields's artwork, this particular artist offers a post modern take on the obvious meaning of consumption. Whilst Shields enlightens us with two definitions of the term, literally and in regards to material items, Desire Obtain Cherish, represents consumption as something that is abused and over-used. Likewise with Shields's works, this artist uses high-end brands to portray the obvious meaning of consumption as being materialistic, however uses the concept of drugs and pills to represent the notion of overconsumption and inevitably, abuse. The pills act as symbol of addiction, not only to drugs, but to materialistic items. The simplicity of the images, emphasises the meaning behind the initial sight and this challenges the audiences prime perception of the deeper meaning. The cleaver use of well known brands such as Chanel and Hermes, epitomises the notion of overconsumption in that it acts as a public statement for the audience.
